Well it was chilly last night night and 77 this afternoon, so that means it’s Spring and time for a trip to the dump and a book sale. The result is a curious number for our title of today’s post, telling you I just cataloged our 17,371 book here at ARC. That book, and the one catalogued before it, are, respectively, a humdinger and a doozie.

Above is a pic of the winning number, I Will See You In Far Off Places by Áine Ní Cheallaigh (Capsule Press, Beacon, NY; USA, paper; 238p., 2016). It tells you in no uncertain terms, EXACTLY, what the meatless Morrissey did, or what two ladies thought he did, and what they did as they followed every step of his 2015 South American tour. Both the fans and the publisher are Upstate locals – exactly the kind of obscurata we love to add to our collection.

Next up, maybe more dozey than doozie on second thought, is Vinyl Rocks 1955 – 2016 by John Boik ([self published], n.n., paper; [no page numbers], 2016). What you get is photos of the cover and label of the first release version of Classic Rock LPs sorted by year. Happy to preserve this home-made all-color labor of love.

So we’ve now catalogued 17,371 music books. About 15,000 more to go. And stay tuned to find out where they’re going as we get set to announce our next, and last in my lifetime, new home.
