Well it’s Giving Tuesday, and once again we ask you to consider ARC.  Please donate to causes that save lives, then consider saving music. 

As we move towards building our new home upstate, sure we need funding.  But holding money is not that exciting.  Holding a record we’ve never seen or heard is a thrill.  Elvis sent us money once, but that batch you see above was not enough.  So AFTER you cyber-send some real dough, explore some fungible alternatives.

ARC’s on the hunt for early Blues, Rock and Country LPs.  Pre-Beatles, early 60s  and earlier. African and Caribbean – actually any foreign releases.  We want strange things – the stranger the better.  What many consider audio and graphic junk.  We love junk.  Let’s call it obscurata.  Fanzines – esp foreign.  We’ve got issues of  Sniffin’ Glue 9-12.  I’m guessing your sniffin’ glue days are over and there are clear headed donors out there who have hidden the mag from their kids all these years.   #1 anyone?  Even flyers and handbills are go. If you have Beatles things, the obscurer the betterer. Like our now-brittle bite-size licorice disc.  (by the way rock star candy last about as long as rock star fame – just saying.)

We’re asking that you scour your basements and attics.  STOP paying for those storage facilities.  De-clutter. It’s only a short state of paper and plastic postpartum.  Feel good about helping to build the world’s largest popular music archive.    THANKS!
