Here’s a photo from our first full year of operation, 1986.  It’s deep inside Jeep Holland’s house.  Jeep founded one of the great indie labels, A-Squared Records, home of the MC5.  The house was condemned and sinking from the weight of his collections. We organized the sale of his 10,000+ Classical discs for him, and saved and preserved tons of memorabilia and his 125,000 popular music recordings.

Here’s a garage and music shop in New Delhi, India. We found a great many wonderful recordings as we picked through piles in search of a Beatles 78rpm disc. 

This is what we do @ ARC. We keep large and small collections together, honoring the legacy of the donor for all their dedication and hard work. Till now our more than three million recordings have been used by the recording industry and scholars for research purposes and reissues.  

Now, with our permanent new home on the horizon, we will be open to all.
