Sheet Music

Just a short interruption in letting you know about the ONE LP exhibition to let you know about a recent donations of sheet music. 50 great things arrived in the mail last week, a lovely batch from longtime donor Kevin Lanagan. Kevin has been slowly donating his beloved stash for more than 10 years or so and is dangerously close to creating a very special Special Collection here, with thousands of onesheets and booklets donated. He likes and collects a wide range of tunes, and we are ever so pleased when a few sheets of plantation music arrive. Rock, blues and popular ballads – they’re all here, and it’s hard to say if the songs are better than the graphics! Thanks Kevin. We hope to have a sheetmusic gallery up soon. For now you can see a great many of his that we have integrated into our Muslim World Music Week site.

I really like the Womack cover as ARC is getting ready to travel West and do some mischief at the Internet Archive in San Francisco – look for a spectacular announcement at the end of October.

Don’t forget. The ONE LP show is still up here at the ARC, 54 White St, NYC. It runs until Friday Oct 3. Daily 11am – 5pm. Do drop by and have a look.
